Energy, in a human context, is our capacity to do work, play, be creative and connect with others. But when we don’t deliberately manage our energy, we limit our ability to perform at our best and even risk burnout.

In today’s fast-paced world, burnout impacts everyone – individuals, teams, organizations and even society. Burnout is a complex challenge, but the solution isn’t as easy as working less or implementing ‘tips and tricks.’

However, a simple shift in how we approach our work and life can make all the difference – moving from a narrow view of ‘time management’ and expanding to include and focus on ‘energy management.’

We’ll always need to manage our time, but by prioritizing our energy, we can not only mitigate burnout, we can also create the conditions to thrive at work and beyond.

Hi I’m Cole Nakatani

I’m passionate about empowering people and organizations to prevent and reduce burnout, making it easier to experience genuine flow and focus at work.

My own journey began when I experienced major burnout early in my career while building my first business. I learned that burnout isn’t simply about being overworked—it has many facets. I was exhausted, but more importantly, I was deeply undernourished. I’d given up the things that truly filled my cup and instead relied on hollow sources of energy and motivation: caffeine, stress, anxiety, guilt, and superficial ambition.

Today, while I can still find myself at times teetering on the edge of burnout, I’m far more resilient. I can recognize the warning signs and respond with intention. I’m also not aiming to eliminate burnout entirely—big goals and ambitions will always carry some risk—but I believe we can all develop skills and systems to prevent unnecessary burnout and create conditions at work that allow us to thrive.

With over a decade of experience, I’ve designed and facilitated transformative learning experiences for thousands of professionals around the world. My expertise lies in creating dynamic, engaging learning environments that deliver practical insights and foster meaningful behavioural change—always with an emphasis on making the process inspiring, energizing, and even fun.

It starts with recognizing how we each contribute to burnout and how we all benefit when we collaborate to prevent it. Often, the best solutions are hiding in plain sight. I love helping people uncover these hidden drains on our energy and tap into new wellsprings of potential. Let me show you how.

I have worked with groups ranging from intimate gatherings of just a few individuals to participants numbering over a thousand. I will work with you to customize the experience so it best suits your needs. 

While most people hire me for the relevance of the material, what truly sets these programs apart is the immersive and transformative learning environment. Many training programs rely heavily on flashy slides and one-way information delivery (don’t worry, I have those too), but true learning and growth require much more.
